I have no clue what the problem is here - could be Apache config, but I don't know what I need to change (MIME type maybe?) to make it work. Bottom line is that when I try to create a block with the backend.php from my own site, I get that damn "There is a problem with the RSS file URL" message - well I know the URL is good because it's in the same damn directory. I can get backend.php from phpnuke.org fine, and from a nuke4 site on another system, but not from my this RedHat system. I've seen other people post comments about this - but have seen no solutions offered.

Also ... any idea why ultramode.txt only changes when I add comments to an article and not when I add an article? That seems kind of bass-ackwards. I really didn't want to use ultramode, but I've wasted almost 3 hours trying everything I can think of to make this work.

This is all running on RH 6.2 Intel, Nuke 5.2, Addon 521 beta.

I just setup 2 new sites using phpnuke 5.2 and have the same problem. Same server and configuration. Right now I am not 100% sure but I may have a permissions problem someplace and I checked through everything.

Once I find something I'll post it here.

This worked great for getting headlines from other sites. Thanks.

My site is still a problem. When I add my headline block I get this in the block.

The URL for the backend.php is http://home.clublard.com:8002/portal/backend.php . Seems to be in order. I am running this on Windows 2k server, with apache as the web server. Could the :8002 be the problem?

This has helped me immensely! I was searching for this bug myself, literally, for hours.

What is really frustrating is that this bug is so old, and I am running 5.3.1, which as of this posting, is the most recent version availible. grr.

I have a totally NEW and unusual problem with backend.php! I run 5 sites all devoted to RTS gaming. 1 of the 5 has a "real" domain registration "http://www.ageofmythologyplanet.com". However, the other 4 sites use redirects to subdomains, i.e. "http://dsp.mednickonline.com". Here's the scenario - the site that does NOT use a subdomain redirect is able to be "backend'd" by the other 4 sites - none of the other 4 work correctly. I get a very odd message about the site being permanently redirected blah-blah-blah.
If anyone at all can help me with this, please shoot me an email..

admin@dungeonsiegeplanet.com

THANKS!!!!!
