Hey Humpa, Chatserv, and others...
I may be needing to upgrade my phpNuke from ver 6.0 to 6.5... Already have ver 6.0 and my site up and running nicely, and I am a little tentative about upgrading to 6.5... But will need to do it in order for a subscription management program to work (only works with ver 6.5 I am told)... Any advice on going to 6.5 and/or landmines I want to avoid... And/or is there another subscription management application you know of that will work with my ver 6.0? (The application I am looking to use is DreamAccount from Dreamcost.com - has a phpNuke module)
Thanks...
Mike

I too am thinking about an upgrade from 6.0 with phpbb port to 6.5. I've done it on one site but that site was practically out of the box fresh install anyways.
But, with my orginal nuke site ver 6 plus phpbb port, it is still only thinking about the upgrade, not doing the upgrade. This site most member crucial and has the largest db of all my sites. And I've made modifications everywhere, including disabling the registration. It all works great, members love it.
(When I first installed php-nuke I tried the YOUR ACCOUNT TWEAK MODULE because it appeared to have the user admin features I needed. I never did get it working so found another solution.)
So, I'm still thinking about the upgrade for this site. I still need to look for some clear instructions too.
I'm changing servers for this site, there is a testing opportunity on the new server before propagation. It would be a good time to do the upgrade.
I'm also thinking I might try Your Account Tweak again.

| Quote: | | Instructions for PHP-Nuke 6.0 without Tom's bbtonuke port |
1-Make a backup of the database tables and all files
2-Using your current config.php as a guide configure the new config.php's settings, PHP-Nuke 6.5's config.php has a new variable: $sitekey, it is recommended that you change at least some of the letters/numbers in it to make it unique.
3-Upload all files and folders included in Nuke's html folder so that they replace your current files.
4-Upload upgrade60-65.php to Nuke's main directory (where config.php is) and point your browser to it. Delete it once done.
5-If you were using Splatt forum with Nuke 6.0 and wish to transfer its data into the new bbtonuke forum, use NSN_Move

| When I do this everything goes great right up until the move.php gets done executing (Stating that everything was successful). When I open the forums, all of my categories and forums are there, with the correct number of topics/posts, except under Last Post it says No Post, and when you open the forum there are no messages. I have been banging my head on this for days, any suggestions? |

I have the exact same problem as Ingus, I need this sorted asap. I can't have my forums down.
One thing I did wrong was executing the upgrade script php60to065.php and I don't think I should have done this.
I then ran the correct forum upgrade script nuketobb as above. But is this too late? Have I screwed up my forum completely?
Shall I back up the forum and re-install it???
help help, thanks in advance. |

| If upgrade60-65.php is missing you either don't have PHP-Nuke 6.5 or need to download it again. |

| When I'm uploading the new 6.5 files my host wont allow .ht* files to be uploaded. Is there away around this or should I ignore it since I dont see them there in the first place? |

| Yahoo hosting probably? You can ignore the .htaccess files. They are used for security reasons, but are not necessary |

Well I did the upgrade and I'm now having multiple problems.
1. My blocks are not showing up. I'm only seeing the footer and header
2. When I access the admin console and I click on the forums admin module I get the following | Quote: | phpbb : Critical Error
Could not query config information
DEBUG MODE
SQL Error: 1146 Table 'nuke.nuke_bbconfig' doesnt exist
SELECT*FROM nuke_bbconfig
Line : 225
File : /modules/Forums/common.php |
Also when I click on the block administration none of the blocks are showing up there either! |

| Did you run the upgrade script? What forums were you using before? You may need to do something to reinstall the phpBB forums tables, if you were using the older forums |

I went through the procedure that is above and yes I ran the upgrade script from 60 to 65 that was provided with the 65 version. TBH I never really setup the forums/bb with the 60 version so technically I wasnt using the forums with the 60 version. How would I go about re-installing the bb tables?

NOTE: This version of PHP-Nuke includes phpBB 2.0 port as official Forums module. Splatt Forum module isn't included anymore but updates are available from Splatt Forum Homepage.
You should now delete this upgrade file from your server. |
