When i login or logout (while the login block is on the left, #1 it stays there and #2 after i logout it still says "logout". It works fine on the right side. Yes, i have searched and found 3 other posts on this topic, but the only solution given was put in on the right or a form was not closed... well, i can't put it on the right for asthetic purposes and i have spent several hours going through every page of code checking for open tags and I didn't see any (doesn't mean i didn't miss one possibly). Is there another problem that could be causing this? Or is this a bug and if so, is there a patch for it? FYI: nuke 6.0, mySQL, Apache. Also, I'm an advanced html'er, but new to php. If somebody needs the URL just let me know.

sure
keep in mind the site is not finished. I still have my content and blocks to finish organizing... but before i started doing all that, i wanted to get the login block straightened out. Here's the url: http://www.divasedge.net/~admin/php (name servers haven't changed yet)

Thanks humpa

no. i went through SEVERAL themes and it did the same... so i don't think it's the theme, however i did go through the theme code anyway looking for anything that didn't look right.

Who can view the login block (what do you have it set for?)

I'm not too clear on what your error is.
If you logout from Admin, does the block work correctly?

You say the block works correctly on the right, but not the left.
Try the login block on the left, and deactivate the other left blocks, and see if it then works.

Annonymous users only are *supposed* to be able to view the login block. What happens (with the block on the left): I'm logged in as admin, well the block remains there with logout in it (it is supposed to be hidden) and then #2 when i click the logout link in the login block it logs me out, the login block is still there, but with logout url still in the text area (when i'm already logged out) oh, and it still says "welcome webmaster", and the admin block is hidden and i have to login through the main area to access the admin panel, so it clearly logs me out, it just leaves the "logout" url... follow me?? I'll try disabling the other blocks and see if that works...

For the login block on the left, you might have to refresh the page one time - ? - though you shouldnt have to do that.

The only logout link I see in my login block is for the Admin. Like you said, it logged you out of Admin(you no longer had your admin links/block)

If you are logged in as admin, but not logged in as a User, you will be seen as anonymous and you will see the login block as an anonymous would.
If you are logged in as an admin and a user, you will still see the login block, but with an Admin - Logout link.

When you say the admin logout link is still in the text area, whcih text area are you referring to?

And, when it says "welcome webmaster", that is your Username, and not your admin name.
You logged out of admin with the logout link in the login block, but that doesnt log out your User.

ok, does this make a difference... when i setup my super user i selected to create a "normal" user with the same id... that might sound like what you were talking about. When i login the block is displayed and it says "Admin: [Logout]" , when i LogOUT the block is still displayed(like it should, b/c i'm now logged out and supposed to be an annon user) BUT the Login block still displays "Admin: [Logout]" If i click the [Logout] link (while i'm already logged out) it takes me to the login screen. Should i delete the regular user account? Do you think that might work?

It sounds like the only problem you have, is that after clicking the "Admin: [Logout]" link, you still have the "Admin: [Logout]"
But, when you refresh the page, will that "Admin: [Logout]" go away?

And, as far as your Username being the same as your Admin name, that is how most of us have it set up.
We use the same username and password (though we have to login to both accounts).

ahhh, we're getting somewhere, lol. When i refresh it works, but it still displays "welcome webmaster" is this b/c i'm still logged in somewhere as the superuser? Also, i went to the members list and it displays 2 registered users, but when i click to view all it only shows 1 user: webmaster. I'm sure that has something to do with the creating 2 users with the same id. Ok, so now, how do i get it to refresh after the logout is clicked...

* i went up a whole rank in one post, lol* --- thanks for the help humpa

No ... that is because you are still logged in as the User with that name.

A superuser is NOT a registered User.
A superuser is an Admin with all Admin powers. They should call it superadmin, because everyone gets confused at first.

It is fine (and normal) to have a superuser admin and your registerd User that have the same name.
In your case, you have a superuser admin and a registered user, both with the name "webmaster".

You will never see a welcome message for Admin (superuser)- if you go to Your_Account and logout, then you can see what it says.

ok, thanks for that explanation. Like i said i am new to the whole phpnuke thing. I think i'm beginning to get it now. Do you have any ideas about the having to refresh to get the "logout" to go away? And any idea why it only happens on the left side? -- going to get a bite for supper... be back in a few

What version of phpnuke are you using?

The removal of the admin cookie should happen before your left blocks are created, though

I'm not sure why you still see the admin [logout], but your Users wont see that.
They wont have the admin [logout] at all.

I'm using 6.0. I just tested the site on another computer and it works fine. I guess it was the whole admin thing going on. I really want to express my deep gratitude for this forum and humpa's patience!!!!

Thanks!
